Chef in the Garden 2009
July 9th, 2009 - 6pm Apps & Beverages - 7pm seating Interbay P-Patch, 2451 15th Ave West Seattle, WA 98199
The Trust’s Chef in the Garden event on July 9 will pair Tom Douglas’ superlative flavor combinations with a memorable summer evening surrounded by lush gardens and gentle music.
Tom Douglas’ menu includes sweet pea and mint soup garnished with radish and sprouts, “Mom’s” crab dip with taro chips, and lemon and tarragon lamb kefta skewers as appetizers; a first course of chilled salmon fingerling potato salad and spicy green beans; herb-crusted duck with sweet cherry relish, accompanied by semolina gnocchi, for the entrée; and strawberry and rose geranium sorbet with hazelnut toffee shortbread for dessert.
Each course will be paired with fine Northwest wines.
Diners may choose a vegetarian menu meal when they purchase their tickets. They also have the opportunity to specify individuals or a group with whom they wish to sit during the dinner.
Beverages and appetizers will be served beginning at 6 p.m., while people are strolling the garden and examining garden-themed baskets to be sold via a silent auction. Dinner seating will be at 7.
All-inclusive tickets are $95, and can be purchased online at Brown Paper Tickets, http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/67519, in person at Brown Paper Ticket locations (listed on the website), or by sending a check to the P-Patch Trust, PO Box 19748, Seattle WA 98109-6748.
Proceeds from the dinner support the Trust’s programs, including the acquisition and creation of additional community gardens in Seattle; assisting low-income p-patch gardeners with plot fees and the availability of tools; and promoting donations of produce to local food banks.
An indoor facility has been reserved for the event in case of rain. Ticket-buyers will receive the details of the inclement-weather arrangements.
